i have several machines that do not need to be in inventory anymore. Can i remove them without effecting any spiceworks tickets. i want a fresh inventory of our network

Inventory is assigned to People, and Tickets are assigned to People. Deleting a device just un-associates that device with that person. It will not delete any tickets, etc. To delete:

  • Inventory->All Devices
  • Click Edit->Delete
  • Select your devices and click delete

I deleted all devices now it doesn’t seem to want to rescan my network… I upgraded to the newest version of spiceworks and I’m getting nowhere fast

When you delete, there’s an option to delete and not rescan. Go to:

Settings->Network Scan

Under the Your Networks, check your IP Pools for exceptions and make sure nothing that should be scanned is in there.
