I have been using Spiceworks for while now and like it very much. However, my network inventory device inventory has many machine that no longer exist on our network or have different names, or have duplicate entries. At this point instead of trying to fix each individual item I would like to mass clear the inventory and rescan my network. Is there a method for doing this?
Thanks,
JB

We have the same problem. Been using SW for years and upgrading as each new version came out. This has caused the inventory to be very messy to say the least. The thing is, I don’t want to do any kind of mass purge because we would lose all attached documentation.

Luckily I do not have anything custom associated with my inventory but I do not want to perform a reinstall because I do want to keep my help desk tickets. I was contemplating just deleting all device entries and trying a rescan but not exactly certain what the repercussions would be.
Okay, after some poking around I think I found it. In the device inventory, at the top were you can change your view settings. Next to that is an edit button. Click the edit button and choose delete. This will allow for a bulk deletion. I was able to delete my devices and then rescan.
Thanks,
