A contact is a person or organization to which you want to communicate. Outlook can store information about contacts such as name, addresses, email , job titles, phone numbers and notes etc. Each contact is like a business card that you stores in a file. If you frequently save contact information for business and personal contacts in Microsoft Outlook, you will generally store a large collection of contact records. Being able to manage and quickly access specific contact information is essential for efficient communications. The more people you address with on a regular basis, the more important it is to have your contact list maintained.

You can import data into Outlook from data files created in Outlook (.pst files) or from plain-text files that contain field values separated by commas (.csv files) or from vCard file (.vcf). Similarly, you can export contact from outlook 2013 to vcard file or other formats.

Outlook displays your default address book when you click the People link on the Navigation Pane. The default MS outlook address book content is stored in a folder named Contacts.

Steps to export Outlook 2013 contacts to vCard

Step 1: Click the People button from navigation pane to access contacts

Step 2: Select the contact that you want to export as vcard

Step 3: Click Microsoft Office button then select Save as

Step 4: Navigate to the folder in which want to save vcard file and enter the name in file name box then choose vCrad file (*.vcf) as Save as type

Step 5: Click save to save your vCard file

Step 6: You can view saved vcard file in the folder that has been specified in step 4

Limitation

  1. MS Outlook does not support exporting multiple contacts as vcard at one time.
  2. MS outlook convert outlook address book to vcard contacts individually that result in unwanted wastage of time and efforts.
  3. Various other methods that export multiple contacts as vcard are not reliable as they may generate false information about contacts.

According to the Microsoft the above method to create vcard in outlook is much more precise and perfect but may be time consuming as you have to save contacts one by one which is not feasible in an organization having large number of contacts. So here there is need arise for exporting multiple contacts from outlook as vcard which can be possible using vcard export software that export all contacts as vcf in fast and effective manner.

Can’t you also just instead forward them as a buisness contact as well. That way you are able to select multiple contacts at once, you then click on the top menu “Forward Contact” and select Business Contact option. This will create a new message that will attach all of the contacts you selected as VCT files. You can then send to yourself and select option to save all attachments. Just a way to save them as Vcards a bit faster then having to select one at a time and do a save as.

Yes you can export multiple contacts like the method you suggested. But this method wont be feasible in big organization where large number of contacts are maintained in different folders and address group. Forwarding contacts from these multiple folders will consumes more time.

Yup don’t disagree that it would take more time with large contact groups, but it would save time rather than saving one at a time. Really the best way would be to export to a PST file which can then include every contact in one file. You can then import the PST into most mail clients to import only the contacts.

yes i agree with your answer exporting into PST file will include all contacts but here we want Vcard (.vcf) file format that can be imported in various mobile devices .

Users can email them all Outlook PST contacts to Gmail or Yahoo account by attaching them as an attachment. After emailing, they can download it from their respective account but this method is not reliable. Contact information can be mismatched or some contacts can be lost.
