I have been told my Spiceworks database is corrupt. Help Desk works, but Inventory functions seem to be broken. I sent in a backup of our database and was told it was irreparable.

Problems started only a few days ago when I upgraded our Spiceworks and deleted our Spiceworks inventory to get a fresh take of our current software inventory environment. I don’t know which of these two things was the culprit, but i have several backups to draw from if necessary.

At least if someone could point me in the direction of instructions for repairing a Spiceworks SQLite db, that would be helpful.

Thanks!

We had effectively the same thing happen for exactly the same reasons. We had to roll back our install to before the upgrade/inventory deletion and then everything started working again.

Were you able to reset your software inventory after that? If so, how?

Thanks Sosipater.

After that I’ve only dared to delete small bunches of items. I think there is an issue with using the bulk delete on more than just a few items that causes the corruption. This is just my surmise at this point, but the evidence seems to point in that direction. Dumping the inventory using that doesn’t seem to work as far as I know. I’m probably going to end up using the Firefox SQLite plugin to do my dirty work, just haven’t had the time.

They should be able to get you going again, but you will more than likely need to send them your database and log files.
