All,

Sorry if this has been posted already. When trying to install the software I’m getting the attached error. I’ve checked and the OS is a 64bt os.

Thanks!

Are you running on a 64bit pc?

Yes, that was the first thing I checked. I also searched for what the minimum system requirements are and can’t find them.

The system requirements are:

64-bit Windows OS (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012)

Dual-core CPU

4GB RAM

2GB of free Hard Drive space.

NET 4.5

They used to be on the download page, but were removed, probably accidentally, when the newest contest was posted. I have tagged a few from the team so that this can be corrected. Good luck!

@babbitt @ezra

Also, are you using the newest version of the beta (the release candidate)? As seen in the following post, this was a known bug and it should have been fixed: http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/656343-unable-to-install-network-monitor

See, that would’ve solved everything. The machine I’m using is a 64bit Vista machine.

I find it odd that Spiceworks the program will run on Vista x64, but this new tool will not.

Any hope for Vista support?

As far as I know, they do not plan to support Vista or Server 2008 because of the work it would require to develop for an older OS, but you never know. Check out this topic for more info on non-supported OS’s. http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/572432-supported-operating-systems

Good luck!

ITGuy85, I’ve got a test build for people running Vista/2008. I’ll PM you the link and you can let me know how it fares.

Installed and working like a champ so far.

This is (seriously) wonderful as it allows me to continue to “breathe life” into the old Vista PC’s that I have left.

Thanks again!

You bet. Just keep in mind that it will need at least dual core, 4gb. Let me know if you hit anything weird that might be Vista-related.

Ezra,

Nothing at all so far (in terms of Vista issues). The PC met all the other requirements other than the OS.

If anything comes up, I’ll post a new topic in the forum.

Thanks again!!

Is there an installer for RC2 that supports installation on Windows Vista?

Thank!
