I jsut noticed the other day that I had 30-40 devices in the NOT SCANNED IN 30 DAYS.<\/p>\n
I know some are genuine that havent been online in that period.<\/p>\n
But most are one of these.<\/p>\n
PCs that are pingable and IP address is the same but they show as offline but are there when the scan runs.<\/p>\n
PCs that are pingable and IP address has changed but they show as offline or online but the IP is for a different PC.<\/p>\n
PCs that are not pingable but it says online because the IP is alive to another PC.<\/p>\n
PCs that have been online since I updated spiceworks but shows no scan when Im sure that they are online when the scan runs.<\/p>\n
If its not updating all PCs that are online then how can you trust it ???<\/p>\n

This is typically down to stale DNS records, if you know the device is on and SW doesn’t, its usually because either the forward or reverse DNS has multiple entries.
