I have been given approval to use my office (and boardroom) to host SpiceCorp Kansas City.

When: August 15th 2:00pm to ?

Please give me some feed back if you are interested in doing this - We need at least 10 to make it worthwhile -
I will provide drinks (pop/water) and snacks -

Bob
I could possibly make it as long as my schedule permits.

Excellent - if this date doesn’t look good - let me know when it would work for you -
If I get a lot of responses that the end of the month, or another date would work better, I will change it to get a bigger gathering. I’m making my dates available for the next two months to work around this -
I want it be successful and SpiceWorks is doing a lot to support it - so it will be well worth it!
Bob
This sounds like a great idea, count me in.

Ok, 3 so far - Between SW and my postings, I hope to get about 10-15 - If you guys know of anyone else, please tell them to sign up! thanks!
Alright Bob! Glad to see things moving forward in Kansas City.
As an encouragement to everyone else, starting a SpiceCorps here in Central Florida was so beneficial to me, as well as those who have been attendance.
Be sure to invite your friends and co-workers. There’s enough “spiciness” to go around!

Thanks David- Myshell has been in touch with me - they are 100 percent behind me! I also have several co-workers and even one of my vendors coming out for this - it ought to be awesome!
Question - it was mentioned that maybe we rotate out the meetings each month at different users work places, or other venues - is that how you guys do Florida, or at the same place each month?
We started out rotating, but now we have a consist place thanks to Mark Frazier (he presented the User Portal within Outlook). But that’s because our group is so de-centralized, Downtown Orlando was the best central place to hold the meetings and his office is right by a major landmark (Lake Eola).
I think the cool part about SpiceCorps is that each one is totally unique and Spiceworks give us the “freedom” to let each group’s uniqueness and personality develop on its own.
You’ll love Myshell, she’ll keep you updated, in touch and anything else you need to make SpiceCorps a success in Kansas City.
So glad we were able to meet at SpiceWorld Orlando.
I’m expecting to hear some great things for Kansas City!!!
Bob.
Count me in, and that is assuming I don’t have an out-of-town consulting gig… Or get involved with taking College Boy back to University… Must ask, why Saturday?
Lemme know the best time to give you a jingle, and i can fill you in on what I have been doing.

I would be interested in attending, but will be out of town that weekend. If something changes, I’ll be there.

Thanks - well, the reason I did it on a Saturday is most people are generaly around, and since this is the first one, I wasn’t sure if doing it in the evening would be better - but I’m up for suggestions!!! If the group said a Friday night or even a weekday night would be better, I’m all for it!
Right now, I want to get involvement and it starting to sound like more people are getting interested -
Can I get some feedback from the group on days/time? If another day or time works better, we can change it - I’m going to be very flexible - we can use my office anytime as well.
Hit me with some ideas! thanks for the feedback!

David, what dates and times do you guys have your meetings each month?
Hi Bob,
I’m new to the SpiceWorld Community and would like to get up to speed with this product - and have some fun; I like that part!
I should be able to make it Saturday the 15th. Good timing as I live up North and have a regularly scheduled meeting Saturday mornings from 10 till 1 in Shawnee.
Kind regards,
Steve Cummings

Excellent Steve - be glad to have you!
Just so you know, If I’m not having fun, I’m not doing it! So these SpiceCorp meetings should be well worth it! I have been following some of the other SpiceCorp groups and they have their meetings at some pretty interesting places (Hooters, somebody’s basement…)
Looking forward to meeting you.
Bob
Count me in.
I like Saturdays or weekday evenings.
I’m a northlander and getting anywhere south for a lunch meeting during the week pretty much shoots the whole day.

Bob,
Any day or early evening works for me. However, I’d point out for your ideas jar that Monday and Friday are worse than the middle three days of the normal work week. On Monday, you get all the problems/requests users thought of over the weekend and on Friday, almost the same scenario, but folks are trying to clear the the decks and get rid of the problems before the weekend comes up. Also, here in KC, Wednesday evenings tend to be church nights for many folks.
An you know me, Various Scout meetings can take evenings on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, (not always every week for each night may be bi-weekly or monthly depending on the level of participation in the unit.)
A suggestion might be to set a late afternoon meeting schedule, a breakfast or lunch schedule for business type meetings. If you have a speaker, then a half day or evening seems to work best. This suggestion comes from my time about 20 years ago when I was a board member of then Local ACM Chapter Chair when we used to have a non-student Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery here in the KC area.
Things have changed in professional IT over the years…
