Hey everyone, thank you for the awesome feedback! It looks like overwhelmingly the group would like to do a meet and greet so that’s just what we will do. I have been in talks with Main Event in Olathe, KS about a starting venue but haven’t locked down a date and time yet but are leaning toward a saturday or sunday afternoon/evening. It looks like the venue will be free to use with the caveat that food/drink be purchased; I hope that isn’t a deal breaker for some. Please follow this discussion for further updates and feel free to ask questions or leave comments.

I would prefer a Sunday afternoon, though unless you wait until December 11, that means you’re competing with the Chiefs.

Hey Rich! As an alternative, what do you think about a company that has offered to sponsor a KC SpiceCorps meetup and host it at their location with food, beverages and giveaways? I’m not trying to step on your toes but this just came up and I figured I’d do a meetup before the end of the year, maybe end of November. You are welcome to put yours together and I’ll be there!

The company is Modis - they are a staffing agency that just put me into my new job with DFA (Dairy Farmers of America). I thought this may be a nice change of pace from technical to a staffing company sponsorship - If anyone is looking to change jobs, looking for a job, or just wants to hang with a bunch of techies and get free stuff - it should be fun.

Let me know what you thing - this would be in Corporate Woods in Overland Park - probably a Friday afternoon event.

Not gonna happen - I"m traveling too much and with the Holidays, I’m not going to be able to pull it off.

Next year anyone?

I’m at DFA now - so… I’m going to try a couple of things… Modis said they would sponsor a meetup, and I may try to get DFA to sponsor it as well. I’d like to do something big, maybe at the Legends and maybe do a tour of our new building if I get permission.
