Last day at this job...

Well today is the last day at this job and Monday I will start a new chapter. I hope to inject Spiceworks at the new organization and spread the spice to the other employees. Most of all I am looking forward to being less than a mile from work.

My commute is extremely short (avg 10 minutes), but less than a mile, that’s awesome. I’d make a tank of gas last a month at that rate.

I work about a mile from home as well… actually did for my last job too (funny thing, my new company was across the parking lot from the old… laughed at the coincidence when I looked it up on a map before applying.) I am about to move to another town so as to increase my commute to about 30 miles but it is Rochester MN so thats not a big deal, takes about 20 min. Smaller town with better cost of living for my wife and our (hopefully) soon to be munchkins. Way bigger house for cheaper too.

I’m going to be person #4 in a Bank’s IT Dept which will be nice to have others around. This job I drove 55 miles one way so I’m going to do my part and save some fossil fuels. I fully intend to get a moped.

Edit: It’s a new position too so I dont have any shoes to fill which is nice.

Less than a mile, mixed blessings, but when I was that close I was getting called in at 2.30am alot by the night shift
