Continues to go up and down through out the day. Page just will not load. Did not have this issue until latest version. What has helped is if I go to the server its hosted on and open it up I get the Spiceworks Splash screen saying 'This could take a while to load" . End users can then get back in after I have done this. Hope this makes some kind of sense. Any suggestions. Should I bite the bullet and install the beta 5.3?

This sounds like “Server Busy” errors to me. Check out this how-to and see if any of the fixes work for you. They helped me, but I can’t get them completely gone. Just reduced to a minimum.

Also, you are correct in restarting the Spiceworks application. It’s the only way to get back up and running (aside from restarting the server itself).

you could also try doing a full backup of your install [Settings → Backup Configuration] & then uninstall, reboot & reinstall the latest stable 5.2.75667 release. restore settings from backup & go again.

Ok I did the back up and restore, but I have lost all my IT Articles. Any way to get those back?

What IT Articles?

The IT Articles for in User Portal. I have since recovered those as well. I unzipped the latest backup into my Spiceworks folder and it didnt extract all files just folders and some files. I have since then just did a copy and pasted the Data and DB folders and all is up and going again.

Thanks for the help guys.
