We have a very simple setup for our computers locally and in remote offices. Those that are in local domains can be reached easily but those in remote offices are not part of any domain and never connect back to the main AD Windows domain.

My question is, how can I inventory the individual computers that are outside of VPN and Domain sites? Is there a way to capture the information that Spiceworks needs and import it into Spiceworks? Or is there a remote agent that can be installed to pull the inventory information?

Also, how can I add in individual machine, non-domain, that is connected locally temporarily?

For a remote office, scanning over a VPN will work, but a better practice might be to use a Remote Collector. We have a very simple setup for our computers locally and in remote offices. We do use the remote collectors for our VPN offices and they work quite well.

As far as the stand alone data collector is concerned, how should I convert the .txt of the script to be able to run it? I know I can’t use batch and I’m more of a network guy than a programmer. Anything to save me from going through the manual steps!
