I’m looking for suggestions on what you guys use to store all your passwords. I have so many it’s getting to be a chore.

It needs to be encrypted and I’m fine with paying some for it. I also want to make sure they spell out they can’t use the data you enter for any reason

Thanks

I have been using LockNote for several years and have had zero issues with it. Works great for me.

Take a look and see if it works for you.

And it is Free.

Password safe

http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/

Its free. I would give it a try before you consider any other options. Its not fancy by any means but I have been using it for years. If you are really paranoid about extra encryption you can install another free app call TruCrypt http://www.truecrypt.org/ This allows you to create a “folder” that is encrypted. You can then install password safe to that location or just the encrypted password safe files.

Keepass

We use Keepass, it’s free, can be encrypted so only your user account can open the password file.

I use KeyPass. It’s free and very easy to use. Check it out and see what you think…

I’ve been very happy with it so far and I have about 25 passwords stored already! It’s also easy to back up!

I haven’t tried this, but it looks promising

I usually use

Last Pass, Really easy to use, but it’s web-based.

I use RoboForm Enterprise at my company, but there is a free one if you don’t require the passwords to be shared among a group of people like us.

+1 for Keepass. You can also use it on your smartphone.

It seems keepass if AES but how much. In my company security is a major concern.

Keypass is good.

Hey Ryan,

Go here: Security - KeePass

and read the first section. Also check out all the awards they have taken: Awards/Ratings - KeePass

Keypass is one of the most widely used and considered “as secure as it’s gonna get” among the community. There is a ton of information out there on it.

Here’s another vote for KeePass, but I prefer the Portable App version. I keep it on a Flash drive so I always have it handy and back it up to my desktop PC.

You can find it here:

I have been using lastpass for about 6 months and i absolutely love it

I use KeePass because it’s free, open-source, available as a portable install and has a neat iPhone app. Using Dropbox, I keep the current version of my file on all my PCs and my phone and can add/update from any of them.

That said, the MikeTechShow did a thing on password managers the other day and recommended KeePass, Roboform and LastPass.

Anybody know a good online password manager so multiple users can have access to the passwords? Preferably this would be installed on a server that is company owned.

I agree with the KeePass suggestion. It’s what we use.
