Hi,
I’m a fairly new Spiceworks user and seem to be having an issue with the reporting of Mailbox sizes. I noticed the graph the other day was indicating several users close to 6.9GB. I immediately addressed the issue on the Exchange server by running ExMerge and archiving the accounts for the main offenders to a separate storage array.
Even after an entire day of archiving mail, Spiceworks Exchange status still shows the same users and the mailbox sizes have not changed…?
I’ve double-checked all of my scan settings and tweaked them according to any posts I could find here in the Users forums, but have had no success.
Maybe I’m missing something? Is there anything special I’d need to set up in order for Spiceworks to be able to accurately report the mailbox sizes?
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

It should “just work” for 2003 iirc, try going to the device in the inventory and running a scan on just that one server.
I guess that your exchange server is not freeing up the space after archiving. Check your mailbox store settings - see attachment.

Thanks for the input guys!
@Nick-C…I tried running the Inventory on just that machine and the reporting still looks as though nothing has been cleaned up. In System Manager for Exchange my largest Mailbox is reported to be about 4.2GB, but SW Exchange data tab shows that User at 6.9. Strange.
@TomBlue…Man, I thought this might be the ticket since I hadn’t looked at these settings, but I’m Keep Deleted items for 10 days, Keeping Deleted Mailbox for 0 days and have the ‘Do not permanently delete mailboxes…’ Unchecked.
I guess it’s not a major issue, it would just be handy to have accurate reporting in this area if possible.
Thanks again for taking the time to read and post!
After messing with Scan Settings, rescanning only the Exchange Server, changing the Interval, etc to no avail. I Quit the Spiceworks Desktop, restarted my machine, opened Spiceworks and now have what appears to be accurate information on the mailbox sizes.
I can’t explain what might have changed, but it looks like its working now.
Thanks again for the help!
