Hi all,

I’m going to be writing here and on my, soon to be launched, blog a series of McAfee (ePO based) How To guides. I can write a lot about a lot and have decided to poll various forums and user groups as to what they would like to see. The intent behind these is not support related per se, but more towards getting started and guiding people on certain tasks.

Here are topics I am considering. Sound off to the top three and if you see something not listed, please mention it.

  1. Getting started with ePO - planning, installation, taking over for another admin.
  2. Getting started with a point product e.g. VirusScan Enterprise (VSE), Host IPS (HIPS), Device Control (DEC), or Web Filtering for Endpoints (WFE)
  3. Roadmap - I have product x already deployed, now what should I do?
  4. Management and reporting - I have settings in place but what should I monitor? How do I know it is doing what it is supposed to?
  5. Did you know? - most organizations only use 20% of a suites capabilities. These would focus on raising awareness of tools you may already own and are not using. Or worse, you may be spending money on other products instead of using what is included in the suite.
  6. Other McAfee non-endpoint products e.g. McAfee Web Gateway, Email Gateway, or Firewall Enterprise
