Dears

I am using Spiceworks Version 7.5.00104, and would like to move our on-premises helpdesk to from http to https. Can you please help us on how this can be done with steps.

Thanks,

Chandran

Well it already supports https so go ahead.

BUT - theres always a but isnt there - the https server uses self signed certs by default so ideally you need to drop in a correctly signed cert to stop the browser warnings.

Thanks for the reply. If we want to import SSL certificate from our service provider then can you explain what information to be given from Spiceworks to them to acquire the certificate?

You need to give them the CSR at step 5.

NB you need to keep the Private key as generated and the signed cert. When you update Spiceworks these all deleted and you have add them back in - step 8 and later

In step 4 its mentioned to fill out CSR information. Can you explain in detail what is this exactly is required to be filled.
