Good day, i am seeking some guidance on how to structure a quality MSP proposal with key emphasis on Services to be offered and Pricing models.
The business aims to offer IT consultancy, Helpdesk Support, Monitoring/Maintenance and Ad-Hoc Projects (New Installations, Upgrades and DR). So i am aware that these cannot be bunched up within one monthly recurring fee but i must also charge Ad-hoc tasks separately.
My question is, how does one build these prices and motivate them?
Any ideas or references will help.

I would think it is best to review what the competitor is offering ?

I had this exact thought in mind, thing is i must be subtle to ask for pricing structures.
Get a few online ones ? Ask friends who are in IT to help you get quotes ?
Then important factor is man-hour vs SLA ? Then to what level or depth do you support ?

Thanks adrian_ych for these pointers, i have already started engagements getting quotes. I will evaluate the hourly rate and the support limits by scope of work and SLA as well.

So I just recently went through a very similar situation. I would offer the notion of focus on services first Breaking each service into a line item and associating hours to task as an approximate guess. That helped me better visualize the cost per hour structure.

Hi Zissouu, thank you for the response. So its ideal to cost per hour on tasks then calculate the rate to a monthly contract fee.
