Hi SpiceHeads,
I ran into this interesting playlist for music to listen while working…

Do you listen to music while at work? Is this allowed in your office? How do you deal with those colleagues when the music they listen to becomes annoying?
Have a nice day!

I get to listen to the radio. Of course that means the same 12 crappy songs played all day every day. I was able, at one point, to have my phone on my and listen to Pandora, but apparently people don’t like that i’m in a special position at the company and started bitching and moaning about it. So now i’m stuck listening to what the billing manager wants to listen to.

I have my own office, so I can listen to music without disturbing people, I don’t think anyone else are allowed to listen to music.

I listen to music at work but we have to listen to local radio stations. Let’s just say there aren’t too many genre’s to choose from.

we have music playing overhead, just a local radio station, but I use a combination of my own music and spotify music to keep my sanity… When i get stressed I throw my rock on and just drown out everything around me for a few minutes…
I just stream Iheart radio.

Lucky enough to have my own office…although still very close to colleagues so I use my headphones.
Just listen to playlists on either YouTube or LastFM all day. Couldn’t get through my day without them.
If in office on weekends or out-of-hours then the speakers get connected and music blasts!
i wish we could listen to music, our small office is such a heavy oppressive atmosphere, i think a little Weird Al Yankovich would go a long way to relieving so work related stress

I use headphones and my iPod, stick it on shuffle and enjoy all day long. Although lately it has been heavily Download Festival music

no music allowed here, makes my mind go numb and i go mad after a while, alas
My workplace, interestingly enough, has a subscription to Sirius XM. Annoyingly, in the nearly two years I’ve been here, they’ve never switched off the old 80’s metal station. I’m just about ready to tear out the speaker above my desk and smash it into tiny little pieces.
headphones and spotify ftw
BBC Radio 1 streams on the headphones, one earpiece on, one cocked off for situational awareness. Between Friction, Essential Mix, Annie Nightengale, and Skream/Benga I’ve got enough 170bpm noise to get myself into hacker persona.

Typically use headphones, cannot play metal @ a reasonable volume in an office on speakers w/o someone crying about it.

Since I work in secure labs most of the time, we can’t have any wireless devices - which includes my phone (which has my music on it) or even bluetooth headphones.
I’ve been thinking of pulling out my old iPod classic with regular wired headphones and using that to listen to…
well, it would probably be podcasts since I’m behind on those.
Yeah luckily I’m allowed to stream music as long as the network performs well enough.
I have a Zune/Xbox Music pass so I just download whatever i’m in the mood for. I’ve got a little of everything.
I have an office - and bring my ipod and have a decent dock. I mostly listen to ambient and minimal techno or some variation on those. Although I have a ton of jazz, 80’s, classic, idm, ebm, whatever fits the mood when needed.
