Music at work

At my office, and the office before i was the only one in the department to have background music playing. To me, i find that having music play in the background helps to keep me focused. So my question is, do you or a coworker listen to music while you work? If you do, whats your setup and preferred music source?

Yes we use music every now and then. It is encouraged to use headphones though, just to be polite. Typically I have used YouTube’s music player, because I can select exactly what I want.

Nice! I have speakers on my desk, but i also have an office so there nobody else to bug. i stream my music from SiriusXM, i should try YouTube music.

As I’m in my own office I have speakers playing music all day. I have a TB HDD with about 100GB of music on it. So whatever album I fancy at the time. I’ve a big collection

I work in a school, and I play music in the holidays when hardly anyone else is around.

I tend to play a mix of things from the Shadows to Nightwish.

I love having music, I hate having my neighbors play their music while I’m trying to work. It’s distracting. especially when it’s music I don’t like, I end up just being really annoyed so I’ll toss on my headset and play my own music. I have playlists on YouTube and SoundCloud that I listen to regularly, then I’ll just click through YouTube’s recommended music to find new stuff.

I used to listen to music at work, which kept me both sane and productive. About 2 years ago though, the head honcho’s decided that because nobody else did it, I wasn’t allowed to either, so it made sitting in a portakabin very quiet and very dull

I was already using headphones. The 2 other people who shared my office definitely didn’t share my music tastes so I was nice enough to use headphones from the get go.

He gets very into it - we sit across from each other and I have to do a lot of hand waving and weird faces to get his attention when he’s in the Spice Zone.
