Hi Tech friends!

As I’m listening to a rock playlist and typing away, just had a thought. What else do Spiceheads listen to while working? I do just about everything, minus country. It usually helps me get into a mood to focus and be thoughtful, or be excited and do mindless data entry while feeling the vibes. I listen to playlists, besides just straight albums.

Who/What do you listen to while focusing?

I listen to just about everything, and while at work listen to just about everything, covered by classical instruments. You can get away with anything as a song as long as its played on acoustic string instruments.

I find I have a harder time concentrating when the music has lyrics, so I prefer just background music. Maybe some mid-90s hip hop instrumentals, or chiptune/video game music. I find Tetris music is especially helpful when I have a list of things I need to get done.

Something that doesn’t pull my focus. A lot of music will distract me and I’ll end up focusing on the song instead of what I’m doing.

Yes, I have a stash of music on my hard drive. It encompasses everything; 50’s to present, pop, rock, punk, metal, country (pop and classic), but pretty light on classical music. There is an album for any mood I’m in. I listen mostly when I know I won’t be bothered by the phone or meetings and I have project work to do.

When I do listening to music while working, it’s usually lofi hip hop without lyrics since though I am a major music lover, I have adhd and vocals can be distracting for me. Music without vocals helps me focus and relax.
