When I try to activate My Ticket Rules in 4.5 B6 I get the attached windows. This happens in both Firefox 3.6b4 and in IE8

I do have rules already created but not active due to the new ticket notification bug.

4 Spice ups

Same here

Hi BWelmers,

Did you place Beta VI on top of Beta V? What happens if you go to Manage Extensions → New Extension → New Helpdesk Queue and create new rules? Do you still receive the application error?

Yes I did put Beta 6 on top of 5 (I am actually using it in a production environment since I like 4.5 better then 4.1)

Interesting I think there may be some plugin interaction with the issue.

the first time I tried to activate the plugin for customized rules I got the following message:

I tried unchecking all the plugins and then adding them one by one. I got License manager, Help Desk customization Clone, My Ticket Views, and My Ticket Rules to all be selected at the same time.

When I did the first 3 and tried to add SQL Server Manager it gave the error as well.

Same issue when I did all 4 and SQL Server Manager

Just tried SQL Server Manager by itself and it does the same error. SO I am guessing the error is coming from there and when any new plug in is added it triggers the error.

Hi BWelmers,

We strongly caution against using betas in production as noted here . The problems you’re running into are most likely caused by placing Beta VI on top of Beta V.

Do you encounter these same issues when using a clean install or applying your 4.1 data to the new beta? 4.1 data is beneficial to the beta program because it represents a normal upgrade from 4.1 and will help us detect any migration problems that might not occur when upgrading betas.

I did a clean VI install and get the error (no 4.1 data or beta v data)

Not sure about V, never tested that bit

Hi akp,

Can you provide more information on how you’re getting this error? I’d also like to get your logfiles as well. I’ll send you a PM with where to send them.

Hello Dawn,

I understand the risks of using a beta in a production environment. If in the end I have to delete everything and start over that is ok.

So I am not going to reinstall from 4.1 because I found the problem to be with the SQL server monitor. I just will not use that plug in until 4.5 is fully working (since I see a number of people are talking about it and it is getting improved)

Oh and I should say now that I don’t have the SQL monitor working My Ticket Rules does work at the same time as new ticket notification.

So I am happy about the upgrade.

They will be on the way in a sec

  • Settings
  • Manage extensions
  • Tick enable my ticket rules and the above screenshot (the one not by me) pops up
  • Go edit and everything seems to work
  • Refresh and the my rules text is that grey colour rather than being black to indicate its active
  • Deleting it thoughs an error come to think about it i dont think it should have a delete link?

Akp just wondering do you have SQL server Monitor activated?

Sorry yes only just saw your note,

have you tried deactivating SQL server Monitor and then seeing if the My Ticket Rules works?

Actually narrowed the issue down to SQL Server Monitor version 0.1. I just updated to 0.2 and it works again.

Was running 0.2 already so not the issue… dawns given me something to try just doing it now

This issue should be corrected in the next release.
