This is the email that i going to send my president .
In September 2009 I had an opportunity to work as an IT Support Specialist in ******** computer labs. After that I was offered a full time job, but at that time because of my situation I was not able to accept the offer. Therefore, according to the company I was to be offered a job as a full-time IT position this coming fall. I am very thankful for the kind offer that was presented to me.
In between this entire time I have been able to gain a lot of experience through my job and also I was able to learn a lot in school and through my own research. As of now, I am in a situation where my family is very much dependent on me. Therefore, I would like to be given a full-time job as a Desktop Administrator. Over my entire experience through my research I have noticed that one of the biggest needs of this school as of now is to have a Desktop Administrator. The reason being, that there are six labs and each one has an average of 30 computers. In similar schools/setup there are at least 2 technicians specifically for computer labs and one for staff computers if it’s a school environment. In addition to the management of the labs I am also handling 50 staff computers. Unfortunately as per our school budget we are not able to have such accommodation, therefore, along with being an IT support specialist I am also responsible as a Computer Lab Technician. According to my research if one combines all of these positions then they come under the position of a Desktop Administrator.
During my job experience I have received a total of 1120 email/tickets. So far I have been able to solve all the technical problems without any difficulty. One of the main things an Administrator does is to save money by introducing new technology. As soon as I came to the IT department teachers demanded for better lab management, I successfully completed the request and offered them free management software which made a lot of teacher’s job easy and gave them much control over the students. For example in******are five labs and with 30 computers they use Lanschool software. They pay a lot of money to run their programs while we do it for free (Reference-http://www.lanschool.com/lanschool/pricing). I think of this as a saving for school since we don’t pay any $ to manage student computers. At the time when I started my job we were facing 18 critical problems, but after implementing proper IT Techniques as of now we have no such critical problems.
Below are the job responsibilities that I would be required to do as a Desktop Administrator.
• Successfully resolve all computer related issues that have been either assigned or requested by users, supervisors or helpdesk personnel in a timely and efficient manner
