Hello everyone!

My organization would love to use the online inventory system of spiceworks online. However, we cannot find an option to upload our existing inventory into the spiceworks inventory cloud app.
It doesn’t appear to be a feature so: does anyone have a workaround that does not require either an agent on end devices, or scanning?

SW is aimed at scanned or collected data, if you only want manual import, I’m not sure that is an option within the system

Thanks for the response!

Through my research, I’ve come to the conclusion that there isn’t a built in option for this.
I was wondering if there might be some sort of workaround (browser extension, script, etc.) that would allow me to do this.

To clarify, if your asking about importing static data, non-scanned. The answer is as far as i know, no.

@spiceworks-support-team But I’ve tagged support, you’ll need to wait for them to confirm.

Data Import is non existent for both devices and Software in Spiceworks Cloud Inventory. it is all manual entry

None right now. That only works for the Spiceworks Cloud Helpdesk and New Helpdesk tickets.

From the little that I’ve seen, the online inventory is much less detailed than the on-prem version.

The public cloud edition Spiceworks Inventory Online requires agents on your network for updating its inventory data. I’m not aware of an import feature neither on the public cloud server side nor with any of its agents on the client side. The import feature is limited to import tickets of your legacy help desk.

  • Why don’t you want to run any agent on your client side as these are mandatory to keep the inventory data up to date?
