When we run the Network Bandwidth Usage Report, only about 10% of the systems show any usage at all. There are no statistics for the other systems. How can we fix this ?

4 Spice ups

Are you saying they don’t show up in the report? or they show up and don’t show any usage?

You might try to change the “is at least” to a lower number.

Are you sure that SNMP is correctly configured and reporting? If so, are you sure that your switches report this data in a SpiceWorks compatible manner?

They show up in the report, but have blank information for the bandwidth. See attached screenshot.

We’re using WMI not SNMP for the computer scanning, and SNMP for the Switch scanning. Other information is populating completely for these computer scans.

I’ve removed the filter that limits it to a minimum bandwidth to be included in the report. It should include ALL computers… so, that isn’t the issue.

I don’t believe that WMI can report this information. Traditionally it could not. SNMP to the switch was the only protocol picking up that information.

Is there more than one switch involved?

Well, we are looking for the Bandwidth utilization on the workstations, not at the switch. yes, there are MANY switches involved, and we DO use SNMP to pull Switch data.

But the bandwidth comes from the switches.

We get the information for the switch bandwidth just fine. This report is showing bandwidth utilization by workstation. If the information was gathered from the switches, I’d think we would have all the information required. The support email we got seems to indicate it is a problem getting information from the workstation NIC, not the switch.

Hi Craig,

Did you ever find a resolution to this issue? Our workstations are showing blanks as well…
