It’s been over two months since the first release of the Spiceworks Network Monitor, and we’ve gotten a lot of user feedback about what you like, and what doesn’t work so well for you. Today we’re dropping the first beta release for 1.2. We’ve got more features planned, but this release brings device-specific alert thresholds.
Many IT pros have a few special devices that need to be treated differently than most, and our one-size-fits-all thresholds meant that you had a lot of alerts and emails about these diva-ces. Maybe you’ve got a database server that’s pinning 90% of your RAM, a RAID-0 SSD setup on your “workstation”, or a 10MB managed switch that you just can’t let go of. Now in Network Monitor 1.2, you can now customize alert and email settings for these special snowflakes and focus your attention on those devices that are really acting out of the ordinary.
Download it here and give it a spin!
For this release, we’re looking for an elite team of SpiceHeads that can work closely with us throughout the beta. Check out the Spiceworks products blog for more info. If you have any feedback or run into bugs, post it to this beta forum. It it’s already been reported, just chime into the existing thread and the Network Monitor team will get on it.

Just installed this morning. Installed overtop of the existing beta. Now, when loading the page, after logging in, I get the circle around the spice, then finally a message that says, “Aww snap. There was an error loading this page.”
Does this require a fresh install?

Yes, it won’t upgrade from a prior beta.
