I am not able to collect any devices in my inventory on the far side of a VPN? Any ideas?

1 Spice up

(Insuring that all machines/devices are ping-able across your network and that you can authenticate properly with the Admin credentials you give when scanning).

From your remote site you will be able to connect to the main site via VPN and access the Spiceworks ‘host’ machine to access the Help Desk.

If you have subnets that differ from the main and remote sites you can define those individually on the Network scan page (Settings > Network Scan) for scanning.

Yes I can see all PC’s from both sides of VPN. the remote office is actually using our Exchange server for E-mail. At corp office we are running a Sonic wall Pro 2040 at the remote office we are running a Sonic Wall TZ180. I can ping through VPN fine, at the remote office I have mapped drives that point to the corporate servers that store their My Documents. Everything works fine except Spice works can not see any devices. I have added the network IP range the same way I added the local range. Settings > Network scan > add IP range. I can also RDP into each PC at the remote site.

are running SW on port 80 or 9675? If 9675, you may need to open the port or set up SW to run on Port 80.

Nothing fancy, just port 80. I can even collect device information accross our T1 through Cisco routers, just not the SW VPN?

MIke3035: did you ever figure this out? I have the same issue with sonicwalls and vpn
