I am needing to re-write out policy as our current one is basically non-existent. I have some samples from SANS, but there is alot there and i would like to condense it down to 2-3 pages. Does anyone have samples I can look at (any maybe copy parts).
I have never written a policy, so I don’t really know what I am doing…

Unfortunately we don’t have one here either. I may swipe the one you posted as a basis for one we might put into place. The only thing I might add is something related to mobile devices.

Go ahead, I either got it from on here or found it on another website when I was searching Google.
Here is ours. We are a non-profit. Names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Here is ours. We have been using one for some time and keeping the page count down was a very high importance to us. Our company is a group of sister company so the document is written to cover all companies. Sometimes our employees will move between companies and this way we only have to get it signed once. We also use this same document for subcontractors, vendors, temps, and such.
This is probably the 3rd or 4th revision of this document since we started using it 6 years ago.
One more thing - it is a good practice to have all employees sign it fresh every year. I cannot remember why exactly… I am sure it is some legal precedent that has been set someplace. We get it done at our yearly corporate retreat when we have everyone in the same room together at the same time.

This is what I have so far… How does it look… is it repeating things too many times? I think it is pretty good… but need other feed back as it makes since to me since i wrote it (well copied it from different AUPs)
Thanks for all your help
