Hi All,

I am looking to have everyone sign an official paper, stating they understand their PCs, files, emails etc can be checked by IT with or without warning, that they are not to use company’s equipment for any other purposes other than intended, etc… My IT Director friend sent me the one we used at my previous employer, but I cannot find it for the life of me. Would save me some creative writing time to not have to create one from scratch, which I will do if I must. Could someone please upload a Word doc of theirs, which will save me a ton of time  You can remove any company specific data.

Thank You Very Much In Advance!

I agree with Rob, SANS has a lot of useful policies to use as a template.

Good one, but a bit dated “Win2K users…”

Would an AUP also include a “social media” use at work section, or would that be a seperate policy?

“Feel free to modify or use for your organization”

I would roll it into one. The SANS policy has a section for Bloggging, that can easily be modified for social media. If you have people using social media for marketing, you may want to do a separate policy for them.

Here we have no business use of social media - any use here is strictly personal. From a management point of view it’s a time waster, from an IT point of view it’s allowing yet another door for malware & trojans etc. We use an Untangle firewall so much is already blocked/filtered on the network.

Thank you for the great input all!

Rob Q - This is exactly what I was looking for! Would have been nice if it was in a .doc format, but I’ve used Adobe Acrobat to OCR it

Thanks again!!
