We had talked about pearl street brewery as a venue. It has beer, food & meeting space… it meets all the requirements of our mission statement
You said you had contacts there, have you reached out to them for the opportunity?
If we have a vendor that wants to come in and talk, ask if they’ll sponsor the night, or even just buy the first round for everyone. Having a Sponsored event will drastically increase the turnout, as people feel there is incentive to come.
If we don’t have a sponsor, we should have a poll taken for topics/demos of systems, if anyone in the group is willing to give such a demo.
So first, we should set a date, or range of dates. End of June or Mid July would be appropriate.
Second Reach out to the venue to confirm available dates in that time frame.
Third, find a vendor to sponsor who can then pick from the available dates. If we are flexible to the speaker to pick the date, success of people agreeing to speak will be better.
Fourth, Confirm the date with the venue, and list it on the Spicecorps Page.
All this should be done by 6-8 weeks before the meeting. That gets you 1 month to put this all together… AAAAANNNNNDDDD GO!
