About a week ago I started seeing some changes to the community pages. I’m not really thrilled, they seem worthless…

One, there is a banner-style pic saying your reply is now live and giving you a link to other threads to answer questions. Really? Are we those kind of users that need something like that? I thought we were IT pros…

Two. A “Chat” box at the bottom right of the page, it’ll pop up occasionally and have an auto-chat pretending to be a person asking if I have any questions about spiceworks. This one really needs to stop. That’s the type of thing LOATHED by most people. Yeah, I see nothing wrong with a chat OPTION, but not something that automatically pops up.

Definitely some steps in the wrong direction. Anyone else see these?

Oh my god it popped up again. This has to freaking stop…

Maybe if someone isn’t logged in and browsing (I still HATE these with a passion) but I’m logged in. I’m active. I’ve been around a while. Crap like this makes me want to throw my laptop in a jet engine…

First time I’ve seen the chat window, TBH - And I hate them with a passion! As an optional extra, where you have to actively click on a button? Fine.

But only IF you click on the button!!!

The Arcserve web site does the same, drives me NUTS!!!

Only noticed the chat box and immediately looked at how to close/disable it. I suppose having it there as an option is fine but not coming up automatically.

That’s Rob C (spiceworks) I actually had a brief chat with him about the feature but it shocked the hell out of me. I kept waiting for a “microsoft rep” to start talking to me about an infection on my computer but thankfully it’s a new feature.

Happened here too. It’s a genuine SW employee but he didn’t say the magic word so it must be a new guy
