Hey A1 licenses are Free but only have the online apps.

There’s also an opportunity to buy/get? Microsoft Apps voor students and teachers, so you don’t really need A3 licenses. I’m searching for the Microsoft site where you can buy of get the apps voor students and teachters but I can’t find it. I know apps for businesses for people who don’t need e-mail exists. But where can I find the desktop apps for students and teachers ? Or do you have to register your school first ?

5 Spice ups

@2300peterw, I know that link but I can’t find how to buy the apps for students and teachers only with an A1 licence who only has online apps.
I know it exists and that even in the Office 365 for businesses plan you can buy the apps seperatly. I just can’t find the pricing and where to buy them.
I know Microsoft recommends < 300 users = business > 300 users E licences for businesses but sometimes it’s better to combine. Like when co-workers don’t need e-mail. (Yes they do exist.)

Not a 100% sure what you are after. You will need to go through the process to get the school accredited and then you can decide which option to go for. I have never done that myself and, therefore, don’t know what restrictions MS place on you to get the free licences. That Web page referenced this https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/academic/compare-office-365-education-plans?activetab=tab:primaryr1 which gives prices in £’s for both A1, A3 and A5 and you will have similar for your country. MS seem to charge for A3 and A5 education although it may be possible to get better deals in talks with MS.

Of course if they want totally free office then LibreOffice has that. What is LibreOffice? | LibreOffice - Free Office Suite - Based on OpenOffice - Compatible with Microsoft Or FreeOffice FreeOffice: The best free alternative to Microsoft Office and you can find others.

Are you already all setup, as Peter said? You can’t view the purchase page until your account is configured, because it’s inside the O365 portal.

Yes we are already set up. In the portal I can see we have A1 licenses but also Microsoft apps for pupils and students. The teachers get A1 licenses + apps for pupils and students assigned. I think both are free offers.

But I can’t find any information on the apps for pupils and students offering. Do you have to register your school first and login somewhere? The previous sysadmin probably has done that already. But is gone.

I also think there are more specific licences for teachers who are also free. Optimization might be possible?

As I earlier said, I have never gone through the process of getting a school accredited and therefore I can only be of limited help for you. If you try going through the accreditation process again then I guess it will either be stopped because you are already registered and you can then try and sort that out with MS or you will succeed.

I guess you will have other education establishments near you that you could contact and ask them about your situation. It is useful if schools, etc, have some kind of local IT consortium where they can help each other with problems since you can’t* be an expert on everything.

*Edited to can’t not can

Unfortunately, I’m in the same place as Peter on this one. I’ve only done non-profit O365, not education. I can say that for non-profit the offers do not appear in the portal until after you get approved by MS, so I would guess it’s the same for education.

Maybe @kelly-for-trusted-tech-team can check with her team to see if this is true.
