I’m just starting to roll out Office 365 for business (no exchange at this point) and would like to get DirSync setup so that users don’t have an extra password to remember / change. At some point down the line I could see transitioning out Exchange setup to Office 365.

Just curious if there is a good step by step out there that anyone has used.

Have an awesome day!

Dirsync is 2 versions ago so I wouldn’t suggest using it. You should use AAD Connect, the current version.

What he said ^^

It’s very straightforward to set up and manage really.

Put all of your users that will need O365 in a separate container in Active Directory before hand and then configure ADConnect to only sync that container. If not, it will create accounts on O365 for all of your user accounts, service accounts, etc.

This is the tool you will need to sync AD to Office 365.

Need to make sure you follow this so you don’t sync every OU in AD.

I didn’t follow those instructions and I had all my service accounts, security groups and things I didn’t want in O365. It was a pain to clean up after the fact.
