Has spiceworks abandon the on prem spiceworks server install. I returning to a network that i installed a long time ago and it looks like its gone.

are all the features that were on the on prem on the cloud version. because I remember the cloud version had less features when it came to incoming email ticket creation. and email templates

It’s still available for download from Spiceworks Inventory Software: Help & Support - Spiceworks but development is discontinued and it is end-of-life at the end of December 2021. The Windows version is still my favorite version of Spiceworks – I’m not sure what I’ll do after December.

Simple answer: No. There is still a huge disparity between the features included in the old legacy system and the CHD (Cloud Help Desk). Things you may miss are:

  • customizable user portal
  • customizable outgoing notifications (templates)
  • integrated inventory[1]
  • purchases
  • a couple more security roles
  • modify ticket entries
  • some reporting[2]
  • language packs
  • add-ins[3]

[1] Inventory is available as a cloud service but is not as tightly integrated into the help desk

[2] Reports involving labour must be exported and handled outside of Spiceworks, either as Excel or through PowerBI integration.

[3] Some add-ins added “premium” features like modifying ticket entries and creating a process flow which further enhanced and customized the system
