I’m currently working on getting the new Help Desk Server up & running. I have held out upgrading from the 7.5 on premise version because I use Inventory and the new server doesn’t include Inventory. I thought I had seem something about a new Inventory that worked with the new Help Desk Server but the download currently linked seems to be the old spiceworks.exe file.

Am I recalling this correctly? Is there a new Inventory that I can run with the new Help Desk Server?

This isn’t really cloud but I didn’t notice that till now, probably should have pinged general support…

The new inventory is only the cloud inventory.

You can access it directly here
Spiceworks and it works directly with the connectivity dashboard as they use the same agents.

Thanks @dbeato , helpful as I had remembered it as being on premise and was having no luck finding that info.

I’m curious to know if you’re using the cloud-based inventory. I think it’s essentially useless and leaves out too many must have features like warranty tracking and software licensing.

@aaronspiegel3085 , not yet, my old premise is still functional and I’ve not decided what to do.

Me too, thanks!

same issue here: setting up the new HDS, but not too happy with the cloud solution for the inventory. Not only as it is not fully loaded as the old local version, but also because of sending the data to spiceworks.

Too bad the old version is windows only (right?) otherwise it could be installed on the same ubunto server to use both instances. Now we have to keep 2 machines in the air.
