Well Mr. Random spit out 1958. A bit of a problem as the Billboard 100 was first published in August 1958. So for the first time I had to generate a second year, not by choice but necessity. Second time around hits the mid 70’s. 1976 Surprise here is seeing C.W. McCall, I thought he was a one hit wonder with “Convoy”, but apparently I have missed the wagon train that his career was riding on. Out of this list I would say Kool and the Gang is my pick of the bunch, that horn section just makes this so upbeat.

42 – “Without Your Love (Mr. Jordan)” Charlie Ross

47 – “I Thought It Took A Little Time” Dianna Ross

53 – “Happy Music” The BlackByrds

79 – “ There Won’t Be No Country Music” C.W. McCall

93 – “Love And Understanding” Kool and the Gang

14 Spice ups

I’d not heard any of these songs before, so that’s always fun. Kool and the Gang was definitely the best one, but I loved the stereo effect of the Happy Music in my headphones.
