I’ve tried to download the latest version of Spiceworks and as soon as I hit download.spiceworks.com I’m getting forwarded to OpenDNS’s blocked page.
I’m told that an “Adult site blocked” and yet the domain is correctly tagged as Software/Technology. I know my network settings are fine (I don’t have Software/Technology blocked).
Is there a spanner in the works? Is there anything I can do (apart from clearing out the block on adult sites)?

If you are the admin for your OpenDNS settings, Whitelist the Spiceworks domain.

Thanks for posting you two.
Craig M - I did whitelist the domain. Sorry forgot to mention that one. It didn’t help.
Cole - I tried a direct link and still ended up with the error.
I’ve manged to work around the problem by using a different internet access point without using OpenDNS but I’m sure this issues prevents spiceworks updating via the desktop right click “update” option.
Strange. This might be interesting for Spiceworks to know just in case there is something they can do about it. (Maybe someone wrote a dirty word somewhere!) I’ll PM Nic and see if he’s aware of it.

Well, it is spicy!! Maybe they ventured into the IRC?
What’s the url that is getting blocked?
We aren’t blocking that URL as far as I can tell…
It doesn’t work for me, (403 Forbidden) but that has nothing to do with us.

Well I never. Tried it this morning and things are ok. The URL that was blocked was: http://download.spiceworks.com/Spiceworks.exe
Thanks to all for taking the time to help. Very weird… but then I’m having one of those weeks

interesting. Well can you please mark a best answer so this question goes out of Spiceworks’ unanswered questions queue? Thanks!
