We have one Win7 SP1 32-bit machine that has been acting up lately. Not generally, but in terms of allowing SpiceWorks to scan it. Ports are open (wmi, m$_ds, rdp) and it has all the same firewall rules as our x64 machines that can be scanned. It has the same SNMP and Remote Registry settings. No glaring differences that I would suspect as being responsible for this issue. One weird thing: this machine shows up twice in my inventory; neither instance scans. Any ideas/suggestions? Should I just delete both instances and see if it is rediscovered correctly?

I would delete both and allow it to be rescanned, even if it was scanning ok…

Double check the logins on the machine and on the 64bit machines. It will try to scan using WMI, which needs a login.
Yes delete both and allow it to rescan the whole machine from scratch.

Thanks. I’m pretty sure the WMI stuff is OK, because if I tell it to use WMI and enter the credentials, I get the Yup! It Worked! message. Then it fails to scan
I’ve deleted both instances and will see what happens…
