I am having a horrible time trying to get a lot of my Windows machines to scan. I have an entire scan range (1-254). Some of them scan correctly and some don’t. They are all using the same account and password (DOMAIN\administrator) and on this particular PC (dell-1992) I know that WMI is working correctly (as I just rebuilt it). From the virtual server that Spiceworks is installed on, I can do a wmic systemenclosure get serialnumber using the same credentials and it works fine. However, I keep getting the error that no open ports were found to be responding. I also have the Firewall turned off and removed anti-virus and still a no go. I have also checked the DCOM permission, namespace, and WMI Impersonation to no avail. I really can’t think of anything I haven’t checked but hopefully you guys will be able to help me out!

Try a slow scan speed (settings/ network scan) It resolved a lot of issues for me.
Giving that a shot now. Any insight as to why it scans better on slow? Did it fix issues you tried to solve individually first? (for example, I have tried individually scanning the IP, rebuilding WMI, disabling the firewall/antivirus, etc.)
Tried scanning on slow and it is still not scanning right. When I manually enter the WMI credentials and scan it that way, it says the credentials work and then it says it’s rescanning but it never successfully inventories it.
I’ve been seeing this also but for us we get WMI timeouts eventually an ok message then it goes back to the page saying failed.
Eventually it turns up in the inventory.
Does it turn up correctly scanned in the inventory or as a device with errors? Because mine have been showing up as having errors for over a month now probably.
No go. Scanned it on slow and still having all of the same issues. Any other ideas from you spiceworks pros?
