None of the ports found to be responding on my network except the for the laptop im using. Ive tried entering the “c:> netsh firewall set service remoteadmin enable” but theres been no change. Currently running the newest version of Norton internet security.

What is it that you are trying to do?
I need to see the licenses installed on each desktop/laptop in the network. I also need other minor details about each laptop.

Are those PCs listed in you inventory without erros? (Or listed at all?)
Please read - http://community.spiceworks.com/education/projects/Getting_Good_Answers
We need more information to point you in the reight direction.
- The server is running Windows Server 2008 Ent SP 2.0
- The PCs are displayed but 13 out of 14 have scan errors.
- The one that doesn’t have the error is the PC im using.
- The majority of the systems are running Microsoft Vista. Two are running Windows 7.
All the systems are equipped with norton anti-virus. I suspected it may be the anti-virus that is causing this issue but i cannot figure out how to modify it since it is a different version to the one mentioned in the help files. The version of norton is 16.8.0.41

Im struggling to get any of these changes to work on the computer im using (windows 7). The menus are different(in both norton and internet securty) from the examples used in other websites.
I can’t even get past the “Firewall Settings” stage. There doesn’t seem to be a section for letting exe files through the firewall. There isn’t an ICMP scetion as described.
It looks unlikely i’ll get this sorted before my work ends in 30 minutes.
Ok ive done all as commanded on those first two links aside from:
- TCP Ports 135 and 445 Inbound - This is needed for Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) which Spiceworks uses to get detailed information about Windows computers.
- UDP Port 137 Inbound - This is needed so that Spiceworks can gather information in the Windows Registry.
- TCP 1024 - 2000 Inbound - Dynamic Ports for Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).
Im still getting the scan errors:
- Authentication failed for user ‘my currently used laptop’.
- Windows does not respond. Permission or firewall problem?
