What does spice works for IT purchasing and inventory of these items? And where can i find documentation on this? We currently user Track-IT by numara which allows us to create purchase orders and then transfer the items to work stations (assets).

I think this article might be what you are looking for.

Track-IT has more features for the purchasing of inventory etc.

The last time I looked at Track-IT you could do PO’s and budgeting etc.

What spiceworks has for now is just a list of things to purchase to hold against the asset.

Hopefully they will get something a little more sometime, but I have been on Spiceworks since the begining and have been impressed of what they have done in a short time.

It would be nice to group assets into groups of monitors, desktops, scanners, and printer so that you can look up a user and see what they currently have and bill the department if the company requires it.

Do you have to congure a ticket for purchasing? Is that what you do to keep track of them?
