Is RDP THE most secure method for remote support/access? I ask now that TeamViewer was hacked and other security concerns I have.

Like everything - it depends!

There are known weaknesses in RDP - but you’d never leave an RDP port open to the internet, right?

It is not the most secure, but it is more secure if you use it through a VPN connection than if you don’t. You should only allow connections through the VPN.

RDP over a VPN is pretty secure. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Nothing is perfect though.

And there is also the possibility to encrypt the RDP traffic with a certificate. Pretty good, too.
