What method/system is the best secure using Remote access?..

Well-planned VPN with RDP.

Depends on your goal.

If you need to provide access to your network from outside then dancrane’s method is reasonable, SSL VPN effectively places the device on your LAN and RDP into a terminal server is another option for those who do not have a work device outside of the network.

If you need users to be able to access their machine from the internet then services like LogMeIn are appealing and reasonably secure and a better option then opening RDP up on user workstations.

Keep in mind that these solutions are only as secure as you make them. Strong keys, strong user passwords (14 characters, Upper, Lower, Numeral, and Symbol), and Multi-Factor authentication are the minimum for a secure VPN. You’ll also want to ensure that you keep your VPN device up to date and that VPN traffic is logged and reviewed regularly.

VPN is most secure, VPN with RDP, my personal fav is Teamviewer

I still like Screen Connect.

Yes, it’s still too expensive, but it works great.

Keep it simple with no need to install any applications that may cause other issues and also need to be managed = RDP.
Simple and secure = VPN.

Please check out Splashtop Business Remote Access . It’s high performance, secure, and reliable. All traffic is encrypted via SSL/TLS. it’s cost effective, starting at $60 per year.

Hey Bekir- I see that it was already mentioned, make sure you check out TeamViewer! It lets you set up permanent access and remotely control, monitor, and maintain devices, plus TeamViewer includes powerful features for managing large numbers of users and devices. Plus, TeamViewer for personal use is free, and you can trial the business version for free as well.
Linking here for more features and info, but please let me know if you have any questions: https://www.teamviewer.com/en/use-cases/remote-access/
Hope this helps!

@TeamViewer

Thanks for the ScreenConnect mention!

To the OP - What exactly are you looking for in a remote access software? We have a full solution for remote support/access that you can host on-prem, a desktop, a virtual private server, or dev board. Everyone uses a central web application, so you don’t need any additional software. Here’s our full feature list if you’re interested: https://www.screenconnect.com/Remote-Support-Features

Let me know if you have any questions!

I run into this problem a lot. Trying to find a way to secure the remote desktop as well.

We dont use VPN because we dont want people connecting their personal computers into our network. We have no control or authority over a user’s personal computer, and if they have something nasty already on it, we dont want it.

For secure remote access, Lepide remote admin tool should be an ideal solution. It is available free and provides complete access to control as many endpoints as you require through a centralized platform.
