I’ve found a lot of answers to my questions thanks to this community already but there’s still one question that’s not really clear to me.

We’ve installed 3 new servers and a development team needs to have access to these servers through remote desktop.

So I’ve installed RDS services on all 3 servers and one of them will have the RDS Licensing service installed.

The development team consists of 5 users which will need access to these 3 servers simultaneously.

I’ve already concluded that a Per User RDS license will be preferred as they might be using multiple devices to connect to our servers.

But will I actually need 5 licenses per server? 5 (users) * 3 (servers) = 15 RDS licenses

Or will they just need 5 RDS User licenses in total for all 3 servers?

I’m guessing 15 in total but as with everything microsoft licensing related, I’m not really sure.

4 Spice ups

Nope, the 5 User RDS CALs covers all the servers in your domain.

3 Spice ups

Woohoow!!! thanks!
