OK, have central install and a remote scan setup. The devices are scanning according to the networks I add in the central server setup but it seems the remote scan site is not doing any work (no CPU activity, except there is plenty on the central server). In other words, I don’ think the remote site is doing the actual scanning.

Any suggestions?

2 Spice ups

I suppose I am trying to understand what is going on. So you have your SpiceWorks Inventory install at your Main office. When you are try to scan the network at your remote office, it’s not taking an inventory of the machines at your remote office?

SpiceWorks Helpdesk and Inventory install at Corporate HQ (Central Server). Another install “RemoteScanServer” (same network) at Corporate HQ that point to the Central Server for scanning. All of the network segments are configured on the Central Server (nothing configured on RemoteScanServer.

When the scanning starts, it is scanning on the CentralServer vs. the RemoteScanServer.

That make sense?

Yes,
If you have everything set up on the HQ server, it’s going to be scanning and taking inventory for all of the machines. I’m honestly not sure why you have a remote install at all.If your plan is just to Scan your HQ and remote office, 1 install can do this. All you need to do is add all of the IP ranges in the Scan settings; which it seems like you already have in place.

That makes Sense, and you need to set up the scan on the remote collector as well to be able to work on the remote location. If you have a VPN you don’t need a remote collector.
