I have seen many ask support but nothing that has what i was looking for.

I am using the latest Network Monitoring Tool

So here it is, I select Device and then it ask me for windows server, linux server, networking device and online check, so i chose networking device and then I put in the IP/hostname address in the box, then at the bottom thier is a box that request a SNMP Community String. Where do i Obtain this String to put in this Box so i can add the device? Also when i goto setting there is 2 selections on the left user accounts and default monitor so really cannot find this SNMP configuration to obtain the string.

Most times this string is listed in the webconfig of your device.

For 99% of the devices the public SNMP string is simply “public” (without the quotation marks)

public is typical for SNMP defaults, it’s only if you specify a different one that you need to put that in

So all i do is put in “public” into the community string box?

go for it

thanks for the help

it certainly wont hurt it if it doesn’t work
