SNMP Community String

I am trying to add a Layer 2 networking device on my monitoring list.

but I am required to enter the SNMP community String?

How do I go about it. I am a novice in monitoring

Every snmp able networking device provides a public (community) snmp string.

For the vast majority this is “public” (without the ")

So you need to take a look to your device, note how your community snmp string is named and enter it in sw
