Samsung universal print driver update.

When I add a Samsung network printer using ‘Devices and printers’ → ‘Add a printer’ by default Windows 10 installs very old version of the driver(1/21/2016). There is much newer version of Samsung universal print driver on HP website. Should I manually update it every time after install? Is there a changelog somewhere where I could check the differences between driver versions?

It sounds like there is an older driver installed on the print server then, update it on the print server and it should correct the issue.

If you are letting Windows find a driver and creating local printer, yes as long as this is not a connection to a shared printer it local, then Windows will use a local Class driver so you can get ink on page OR head out to Windows Update for a driver.

If you do not like what Windows has for you, it’s time to take control and find a driver that is newer. Normally at Samsung.com but HP did purchase that division so the printer you have is getting dated and might not have any updates.

Please use the latest driver from hp.com/go/upd...nearly al Samsung devices are supported.

About the automatic update;

During the installation U see 2 drivers one with and one without a version number

The one without a version number will be updated if HP has pushed the driver to microsoft and then the new driver will be updated with Windows update services.

Our advice is to use the driver with the version number so nothing changes after a windows update…There’re no issues with the UPD at this point of time.

Check from time to time if there’s a update and read the release note before U update the driver. “No problem - No Update”
