We have Xerox workcenter 5845 and Canon ir-adv C5250. It works good for scan to network drive.

On Saturday we upgraded our network drive (samba 4.8), then all scan to file not work. For configuration changes, we changes “max protocol = NT1” into “min protocol = SMB2”.

How can we fix this problem?

If you were previously using SMB V1 it is possible that the current firmware settings or firmware itself does not support SMB V2. I would check for updates for the machines.

It looks like some sort of protocol or authentication mismatch, has either the Samba server or one of the printers logged any useful errors? I haven;t done Samba in a while, but on the Windows side there’s a change from basic NTLM to a more complex format so the copiers need to be able to do that. It may require a firmware update, or as with StartTLS scan to email you may need a newer generation.

Thanks for your responses. You’re right, the printer need to be upgraded too.

Contact Xerox technical support, they directed me to download latest version of the printer (073.190.009.03700).

After upgrade (take more 30 minutes), Scan-to-file works automatically.
