If I setup my AD info will I need to add users to the spiceworks db manually?

No. If you get AD authentication working then users can just use their windows login to sign in to the portal.

Now, are you talking about users or admins? Admins you’ll need to specify and add in the users, but your general users, no.

I was just talking about general users. I have one other question regarding AD authentication, we a pretty large group of AD users that do not have email addresses setup in AD, will these users be able to get into Spiceworks as well?

If you have AD auth then I believe so. As long as they have a login they should be able to get in through the portal.

The only issue you might run into there is with them submitting tickets and how SW will handle the responses. That’s beyond what I’ve seen so I’m not sure if SW will have a problem with that or not. I’d guess not. I’m guessing SW will look for the email, not see it, and move on.
