Hmmm next day free delivery of UBNT gear for me from Newegg Business. Just got a 5 pack of the UAP-Nano-AC’s in, already swapped out some UAP-Pros.

The old EdgeRouter Lite is still a stalwart for us, we have SOOOO many out at customer sites doing VPN’s via LTE on old Cradlepoints. A bunch of EdgeRouter 8p’s at all my remote sites for backup access. Wonderfully expressive CLI, I guess the GUI is decent by now.

SO cheap for what they do, I guess the EdgeRouter-X is half the price as a routing switch. Where is the downside? pfSense is big/heavy/expensive in power with no dedicated ASICs. Don’t see the upside.

pfSense can be as light as you want it to be - but not as light as CLI of course. I have a couple of pfSense sites running on 5v micro routers from Netgate. BUT - pfSense dedicated hardware is more expensive than Edgerouter, so Edgerouter wins hands down on that front. But again, pfSense allows download and install on generic hardware - so if time was critical, you could have pfSense downloaded and running in under 30 minutes.

OP was asking for a rich GUI; last I looked the Edgerouter GUI was good but you still had to drop down to CLI for some configurations.

But now we’re picking straws Both products are suitable in their own strengths, in my opinion.

{"@type":"Person
moikerz
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/moikerz"}},{"@type":"Answer

Hello All,
Looking for some recommendations for:
Small business router
Supports site to site connections
Full Web Gui
I’m looking for something to implement some basic tests, this purchase would be a one time use for about 6months. Any suggestions on a decent router at a low price point?
