My tickets are caught up (I’m down from 40 when I walked in to 5)

I closed out a bunch of change requests

Created 5 new servers and installed the necessary software

My projects are on hold until the weekend

Ok now what? I’ve nothing to do and 6 hours to go. I guess I could write documentation for the Server Antivirus I’m working on, but that will only take up an hour.

My question is this what do you do when you have nothing to do?

I do exactly what you do when I’m bored: jump on the spiceworks community

Sometimes it’s nice to do something physical… organize office space / dust / tidy / clean… and do absolutely nothing related to computers (for an hour or two). Arrange for some e-cycling… break down boxes…

Mood dictates what I do in slower times… sometimes documentation… sometimes just make rounds around the building and see who has issues they haven’t reported.

The first thing to do is make sure you take all of your scheduled breaks and a lunch!

I’m going to say definitely spiceworks during my bored times. But I usually have a ton to keep me busy, the perks of having a network that was setup improperly :(. Good times!

Quit and then buy a zoo and fix it up just to build a better bond with your kid. Wait, maybe that isn’t what I’d do; I might be confusing myself with a movie again… Darn. I was looking forward to going home to my zoo.

What is this ‘nothing to do’ you speak of?

3 Spice ups

I have two boys so I already have a zoo

That would be a very long commute for me I think

I jump into the Spiceworks community and ask questions about being bored

I look up stuff on the interwebs… for example, I’m thinking about getting back into beer brewing… been spending my free time looking up a FDA safe, self siphoning pump for wort transfer. (I hate siphoning manually and I don’t want a pump that has to be below the level of the wort just so it can pump.)
